This part of the announcement is coming from Bro. James in my role as webmaster.  I have been at the school for 29 years and experienced Hurricane Hugo which destroyed most of the school buildings and I taught in one of the temporary tent classrooms set up after Hugo and watched the construction of the new buildings, and I have taught many students in the subjects of Physical Science, Biology, Marine Biology, Advanced Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy, Electronics, TV Production, Web Design and Computer Graphics, Web Surfing and Design, and Science Research.

I have also been involved with numerous science fairs and the yearly science symposiums, being the webmaster for the school web page since it started in 1995, taking numerous school photos for the website and the Catholic Islander magazine, and doing newspaper ads for the school. During the last 15 years, I have also been involved in the role of Internal Coordinator in maintaining St. Joseph High School's continued accreditation with the Middle States Association.

No one else has been at the St. Joseph High School for length of time that I have been here.  St. Joseph High School is a great school and I want to leave it that way for many years to come. Please do your best to help raise the funds for this drive and spread the word to the many other alumni who do not see this announcement and encourage them to contribute to the excellence, growth, and development of St. Joseph High School.  Please remember the successful completion of this drive in your prayers.  Prayer works, that's for sure!

Bro. James Petrait, O.S.F.S.
