PROCEDURE:

1) Try the following link and see how the crossword puzzle works on your computer.  You should know this puzzle from the first semester. If it does work, we may have a review puzzle online tomorrow for the test on Friday.

3) Explore the different satellite views of the earth and sun, earthquake and weather data. Make sketches, write notes (the number of sides will be announced - but you should spend the entire period doing this.  Try to find data for St. Croix and try to interpret it. Do it in the context of Chapter 24.

4) If  you have time,  look-up and write about each of the biomes in Chapter 22 by searching Wikipedia from the Web Portal Page.  Also look up "the Tragedy of the Commons".

1) Check your current grades at www.gradeconnect.com You are required to do this and to inform (or show) your grades on gradeconnect to your parent or guardian.

 2) For Objective B-91, do the Bio Sim investigation, 20-2, "Environmental Selection: Antibiotic Resistance" on Pages 547 to 549 using the CD in your textbook.  Read and follow all of the Investigation and do all of Procedures For Parts A, B, and C.  You will write and draw the graphs and answer the 5 discussion questions individually but you will work with a partner (as determined by the teacher). Both of your assignments can be the same.

3) If  you are finished B-91, then you should look-up and write about each of the biomes in B-87 by searching Wikipedia from the Web Portal Page.  Homework will be announced.

PROCEDURE:

1) Work in groups of 2 per computer but write the assignment individually. Do Objective B-54 Natural Selection - A simulation. You will be using the Bio-Sim Modules on the CD in the back of your book. There are several investigations that have to do with using the Bio Sim CD throughout the text. Even though we are currently not in Chapter 9, follow Investigatrion 9.2 on pages 242 to 244. Evolution is an important theme that runs through all of biology and this program simulates natural selection very well. Run the program from the CD and follow the directions in the Investigation. Write the observations and make the graphs individually on the loose-paper you have on your clipboard.

2) If there is time left, go to the scilinks for Chapters 12 and 13 . The codes are in your book. Be sure to use your clipboard in taking your notes. The number of sides of notes required will be announced by the teacher. and will be added to Objective B-54.
