READ AND FOLLOW THE COMPUTER USAGE RULES

Wednesday, 11/16/05, Internet Lesson 6

PROCEDURE:

1) This is Objective P2-14. Each student will sign-on to

CONCEPTUAL PHYSICS (be sure to return here for the instructions on doing the assignment).

Then do your assignment from the following from the links:

Unit 5 (Electricity and Magnetism) - Chapters 32,33

4) Write around 3 to 4 sides on each topic and then choose one topic and give an oral report on it during class on Thursday.

5) Sometime during class you will be given 3D glasses to look at some NASA - JPL photos of Mars online. Relate this to what you learned in the previous unit. When doing this go to the following links:

HOMEWORK: P2-15. Write the definitions for the Important Terms at the end of Chapter 33 and 34 (17 total). Read Chapter 34. This is Unit 5 and it covers Chapters 32 to 37 and it goes to 12/2/05.

Thursday, 10/27/05, Internet Lesson 5

PROCEDURE:

Before starting the Lesson go to www.gradeconnect.com and register for Physics 2. You should have checked your current grades by now. If you do check them again, be aware that the grades are final and have been entered into the school computer.

1) This is Objective P2-03. Each student will sign-on to

CONCEPTUAL PHYSICS (be sure to return here for the instructions on doing the assignment).

Then do what you can the following from the links:

Unit 4 - Chapters 25,26

4) Write around 3 lines about what you learned from the topics of the sites visited. After looking through the 2 Chapters, and writing around 2 sides of notes, concentrate on the one assigned topic and be ready to give a 3 to 5 minute oral report about it to the class during Block 1B. Student with ID 101 does "Wave Speed" from Chap. 25. ID 102 does "Interference" form Chap. 25 and 103 does "The Doppler Effect" from Chapter 25 ID 104 does "Bow Waves" from Chap. 25 . ID 105 does "Shock Waves" from Chapter 25 and ID 106 does "Sound in Air" from Chapter 26, ID 107 does "Speed of Sound" from Chapter 26 and ID 108 does "Natural Frequency" from Chapter 26. ID 109 does "Resonance" from Chapter 26. Devote one side of notes of your 3-sides assignment to the notes for your speech.

HOMEWORK: To be given in class. This is currently Unit 4and students must read, study, and know Chapters 25 to 31.

Friday, 10/07/05, Internet Lesson # 04

PROCEDURE:

1) This is Objective P - 35. Each student will sign-on to

CONCEPTUAL PHYSICS (be sure to return here for the instructions on doing the assignment.

Then do what you can the following from the links:

Unit 2 - Chapters 17, 18, 19.

4) Write around 3 lines about what you learned: from the parts of the sites visited. After looking through the 3 Chapters, and writing around 2 sides of notes, concentrate on one interesting topic ready to give a 3 to 5 minute oral report about it to the class during Block 1B. Student with ID 101 does "How do We Know Any of This" from Chap. 17. ID 102 does "the Particle Adventure" form Chap. 17and 103 does "Carbon Structure" from the same Chapter. ID 104 does "Build a Bridge" from Chap. 18 ID 105 does "Density of Water" from Chapter 18 and ID 106 does "Liquid Pressure from Chapter 19, ID 107 does "Buoyancy" from Chapter 19 and ID 108 does "Archimedes Principle" from the same Chapter. ID 109 can choose any topic from the 3 Chapters other than the ones given here. Devote one side of notes of your 3-sides assignment to the notes for your speech.

HOMEWORK: To be given in class. This is currently Unit 2and students must read, study, and know Chapters 17 to 24.

Internet Lesson # 03 - Enhance your learning by using the web link for your textbvook.

Monday, 9/19/05. This is the third online lesson for a physics class at St. Joseph High School. It is taking place in the school's computer room.

PROCEDURE:

1) This is Objective P - 20. Each student will sign-on to

CONCEPTUAL PHYSICS

Then do what you can the following from the links:

Chapters 9, 10, 11, 12.

4) Write around 3 lines about what you learned: from the parts of the sites visited. After looking through the 4 Chapters, and writing around 2 sides of notes, concentrate on one interesting topic ready to give a 3 to 5 minute oral report about it to the class during Block 1B. Students with ID's 101 and 103 select from Chapter 9. Students with ID's 102 and 104 select from Chapter 10. Students with ID's 105 and 107 and 109 select from Chapter 11 and students with ID's 106 and 108 select from Chapter 12. Each student should have a different topic that is beyond the textbook and interesting, Devote one side of notes of your 3-sides assignmen to the notes for your speech.

HOMEWORK: To be given in class. This is currently Unit and students must read, study, and know Chapters 9 to 16 by 9/30/05.

Friday, 9/2/05. This is the second online lesson for a physics class at St. Joseph High School. It is taking place in the school's computer room.

PROCEDURE:

1) This is Objective P - 10. Each student will sign-on to

CONCEPTUAL PHYSICS

Then do what you can the following from the links:

Chapters 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.

4) Write around 3 lines about what you learned: from the parts of the site visited and follow the oral instuctions given during class. Be ready to give an oral report on the assignmnet to the class during Block 1B.

HOMEWORK: Read Chapter 8 on Pages 103 to 121. Use the extra day to re-read and study the previous chapters. The test on Chapters 1 to 8 is on Friday, 9/9.

Friday, 8/26/03. This is the first online lesson for a physics class at St. Joseph High School. It is taking place in the school's computer room.

First, Go to www.gradeconnect.com and sign on to Physics 1, 0805-1205. Register first by following the handout page.

PROCEDURE:

1) If there is enough time in the computer room, go to the following link and find links mainly from Chapter 2. Use the Objective Number assigned in class and follow other instructions as given. Use your clipboard with loose-leaf paper for this.

4) Write around 3 lines evaluation and what you learned: from the parts of the site visited and follow the oral instuctions given during class.

COMPUTER USAGE RULES

A) Keep all classroom rules, especially - no talking and no leaving your seat without permission.

B) The computer does not belong to you. It should be in good condition when you leave.

C) Do not change any screen savers, backgrounds, or settings.

D) Do not save any files on the computer without permission.

E) Do not use CD's or download or upload files using flash memory or diskettes without the teacher's permission.

F) Do not use the printer for this class unless the teacher gives permission to do so.

G) Use sound only as needed and with the permission of the teacher. If you have earphones and play your CD music, you are breaking a school rules and those items must be taken from you and turned in to the school office.

H) Do not play games (except for any games you may find in the assignment) on the computer.

I) Do not go to any other websites without permission. If you go to the wrong site by mistake and it is has inappropriate material on it, inform the teacher at once.

J) No email is to be sent (except as requested by the teacher). Do not use instant messengers or go to any newsgroups. If the teacher requests to view your computer history, do not resist.

K) Use all of your time using the computer while you are in the computer room. Go back and go more into depth for your assignment if you think you are finished.
