Monday,, 5/16/05 - This is the 12th online lesson for the Chemistry classes at St. Joseph High School. C2-44, Act. 25-1 is due at the start of class today. C2-45, Act. 25-2 is due at the start of class on Tuesday, 5/17, with the C2-47 homework given below.

Before doing the procedure,

Check your grades at www.gradeconnect.com Be sure that you have a working email address listed on gradeconnect and that your name has your current ID number. This a requirement for this class. The grades are up-as-date as of today.

PROCEDURE:

1) This is Objective C2-46 Each student will sign-on to the

Go to Chapter 27 (and go back to Chapter 26 if you didn't finish it last time). Do the Hot Links, -Internet Activities, Self Test, biographies of the scientists,etc. If you need to, you can also use the Key Terms from those chapters at

WIKIPEDIA, THE FREE ENCYCLOPEDIA

and

Open Directory Project (search through the categories for websites that Google misses)

and

Encyclopedia Britannica, 11th Edition, 1909 (interesting searches into the history of some items)

and go beyond the definitions.

2) Follow and do each part and write around 3 lines of notes (in your own correct English) on what you learned from each part and how well you did on the tests.

3) It is important that you use all of the time to help you understand the current Chemistry chapters or to enhance the understanding of what you already know in Chemistry. Don't just write a couple of pages and stop. The minimum amount for passing credit (7 to 9 points) is 3 sides of high quality notes. If finished 3 sides and there is more time left, do more. Hand-in C2-46 at the end of this class only. Make sure it has the correct heading, title and subtitles.

HOMEWORK: Be sure to read and study and know Chapters 20-23 for Unit 4 which ends on May 2nd.  Your written homework assignments were given in class on Thursday.


 

Friday, 3/18/05 - This is the 7th online lesson for the Chemistry classes at St. Joseph High School. Be sure to follow the computer room rules. Hand-in the C2-06 (Chapter 16 Content Review) homework at the start of class today. Block 4 class students also need to hand-in C2-05 (Chapters 16, 17 key terms). If you are finished with C2-04 (Activity 16-1) hand it in today. Otherwise C2-04 is due at the start of class on Monday. Be sure to save all returned assignments and tests. Be aware that all late assignments receive 3 points off to start with.

Before doing the procedure,

HOMEWORK: Be sure to read and study and know Chapters 15 - 19 for Unit 4 which started on March 11 and goes to April 11.  Your written homework assignment is C2 - 08 which consists in writing out the questions and answers for the Multiple-Choice and True/False in the Chapter 17 Content Review on Page 584. It is due at the start of class on Monday, March 21, 2005. Be sure to write this in your assignment book and take your text book home with you.

 


Friday, 3/04/05 - This is the 6th online lesson for the Chemistry classes at St. Joseph High School. Be sure to read and follow the computer room rules. Be sure to hand-in the C-47 homework at the start of class together with all recent activity sheets. Be sure to save all returned assignments and tests. When the current assignments,are returned, you should have a pile of 46 graded assignments and 2 graded tests. You should have your assignment book listing all of them.

PROCEDURE:

1) This is Objective C - 48. Each student will sign-on to the

Go to Chapters 13 and 14 (and 10,11,12 if you need to add more from last week) and do the Hot Links, -Internet Activities, Self Test, biographies of the scientists,etc.

2) Follow and do all at each part and write around 3 lines of notes (in your own correct English) on what you learned from each part and how well you did on the tests. You may also concentrate on individual topics and use the high school chemistry link below to help research them.

3) It is important that you use all of the time to help you understand the current Chemistry chapters or to enhance the understanding of what you already know in Chemistry. Don't just write a couple of pages and stop. The minimum amount for passing credit (7 to 9 points) is 3 sides of high quality notes. If finished 3 sides and there is more time left, do more. Hand-in C48 st the end of this class only. Make sure it is stapled, has the correct heading, title and subtitles.

HOMEWORK: Be sure to read and study and know Chapters 10 - 14 for Unit 3. and all of your assignments  The Unit 3 test will take place on March 8, 2005 and will soon be followed by the semester exam on Chapters 1 to 14.

Be sure to read and study Chapters 10 - 14 for Unit 3.  The Unit 3 test will take place on March 7 or 8 and will soon be followed by the semester exam on Chapters 1 to 14.

2) Follow and do all at each part and write around 3 lines of notes on what you learned from each part and how well you did on the tests. You may concentrate on individual topics and use the high school chemistry link below to help research them.
