1) Register for Physical Science Class at www.gradeconnect.com Follow the instructions on the handout.

2) Go to Prentice Hall Physical Science

3) Go to Chapter 9 and then 10 (This is a different edition of your textbook.) Chapter 9 corresponds to Chapter 12 in your book and Chapter 10 corresponds to Chapter 13 in your book.

4) For Objective PS04, do the Internet Activities and Self Test for each Chapter. Try Hot Links last but they may not be useful in helping you to learn.

5) Write something about what you learned about each of the activities of websites visited unless other instructions are given. It is more important that you spend all of the available class time in learning from the websites instead of writing very much. The less that you are doing that, the more you should write. Be sure to hand-in the assignment at the end of this class only.

6) For homework, do Objective PS05: Write the definitions for Reviewing Key Terms on Pages 367 and 391. Be sure to read and study Chapters 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 for Unit 4.


Friday, November 5, 2004

1) First, make sure that you are registered at Grade Connect and that you finished last Friday's internet assignment.

2) Go to Prentice Hall Physical Science and do Objective PS09. Follow the instructions below. Be sure to use the entire block working on this and hand-in your assignment at the end of class today.

3) Go to Chapter 11 at Prentice Hall (This corresponds to your Chapter 14).Do the floating and sinking activity on the form that will be provided to you. Then take the self test and record the questions that you get wrong.

4) Go to Chapter 12 at Prentice Hall (This corresponds to your Chapter 15). Do the Identifying Simple Machines Activity of loose-leaf paper. Then take the self test and record the questions that you get wrong.

5) If finished 3 and 4, go back and explore all of the other links in the 2 Chapters and write someting about each link visited.

6) If you have time, visit the websites of some of your classmates who were in the Web Surfing and Design Class at

7) Be sure to read and study Chapters 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 in your textbook. Your test on these Chapters i s scheduled for Friday November 12, 2004. Your written homework is to write out the Multiple Choice and True/False questions and answers on Page 416. This is Objective PS10 and it is due on Monday, November 8, 2004. You may send your homework (or any questions you have) to the teacher at sjhs@islands.vi Send your homework to be received by Sunday evening.

1) Go to Prentice Hall Physical Science and do Objective PS18. Follow the instructions below. Be sure to use the entire block working on this and hand-in your assignment at the end of class today.

2) Go to Chapter 14 at Prentice Hall (This corresponds to your Chapters 17 and 18).

a) Go to HOT LINKS and explore the 4 links. Write several lines about each website visited after you looked at the web pages very closely. If you spend more time on a website, write more about it.

b) Go to INTERNET ACTIVITIES and do them all. Answer the questions after carefully observing what happened. Go to the Alternative Fuels link and write several lines about it after viewing the entire website.

c) Take the SELF TEST and take notes on your wrong answers. If you run out of things to write, write the test out with the correct answers.

d) Go to the REFERENCES LINKS and ENERY QUEST and SUPER SCIENTISTS and pick out the scientists who are connected with heat and temperature and write about their life.

e) Visit the websites of some of your classmates who were in the Web Surfing and Design Class atone website and write something about the content of each of theirwebsites. After class congratulate them on their websites.

7) Be sure to read, study and know Chapters 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 in your textbook by December 1, 2004. Your written homework is Objective PS19 - Write out the Multiple Choice and True/False questions and answers on Page 474 (Chapter 18). You may send your homework (or any questions you have) to the teacher at sjhs@islands.vi

2) Go to Chapter 22 at Prentice Hall (This corresponds to your Chapter 22 and then go to Chapter 15 which corresponds to your Chapter 23. For Each Chapter, do the following:
